at INRIA
From the scientific point of view, I did not find many significant differences with respect to the organization of the research work at IMATI. An interesting difference, however, is INRIA’s monday meeting. The research group with which I collaborated (geometrica) meets every monday on a regular basis, and each participant is required to discuss a paper he/she finds interesting in his/her field. Thus, the research group is somehow constrained to be continuously updated, and each researcher receives a continuous insight from people working on different, though related, areas.
