EG'05 Young Researcher Award to Pierre Alliez
Pierre Alliez has received the EuroGraphics Young Researcher Award 2005 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Computer Graphics and Geometry Processing.

Eurographics currently presents three awards:
- The Distinguished Career Award
- the Outstanding Technical Contributions Award
- the Young Researcher Award.
The Young Researcher Award is given each year to two young researchers in the field who have already made a significant contribution. The intent of this award is to recognize people early on in their career who have already made a notable contribution and are likely to make more.

Eurographics Awards Programme
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Eurographics has decided to establish the Eurographics Awards Programme. The goal of the Programme is to recognize, highlight, and promote computer graphics research in Europe.
The Eurographics Awards Programme recognizes individuals who have significantly advanced the field of computer graphics. Each year, the awards are presented at the opening ceremony of the annual Eurographics conference.
The founding members of the awards committee are
- Pere Brunet (Spain)
- Markus Gross (Switzerland),
- Roberto Scopigno (Italy),
- Hans-Peter Seidel (Germany)
- Francois Sillion (France)
The committee is chaired by Hans-Peter Seidel. Committee membership is on a rotating basis with an average term of five years.
