International Workshop on Multimedia Content Representation, Classification and Security http://www.ehb.itu.edu.tr/~mrcs/ Important Dates Submission of Extended Summary : April 30, 2006 Notification of Acceptance : June 10, 2006 Camera-ready Paper Submission Due: June 30, 2006 Workshop on Multimedia Content Representation, Classification and Security (MRCS) is being organized with the objective of bringing together researchers, developers and practitioners from academia and industry working in related areas of multimedia systems. MRCS aims to serve as a forum for the dissemination of state-of-the-art research, development, and implementations of multimedia content extraction and classification, multimedia security technologies, and innovative applications. IMRCS is co-sponsored by IAPR, EURASIP, TUBITAK, ITU, and IEEE Turkey Section. Papers are invited on the following topics. Submitted papers will be reviewed by at least two members of the program committee. Conference Proceedings will be published in Springer , LNCS. - Content Analysis and Representation - Feature Extraction and Content Classification - Multimedia Signal Processing - Evolutionary Algorithms in Content Based Multimedia Data Representation, Indexing and Retrieval - Transform Domain Representations - Multimodal Signal Processing - Multimedia Fusion in Surveillance and Monitoring Systems - 3D Object Retrieval and Classification - Multimedia Mining - Cultural Heritage - 3D Video and Free Viewpoint Video - Authentication, Content Protection and Digital Rights Management - Audio/Video/Image Watermarking/Fingerprinting - Information Hiding, Steganography, Steganalysis - Biometric Identification - Benchmarking and Comparative Studies - Multimedia Applications (Broadcasting, Medical, Biometrics, Content Aware Networks, CBIR) Special Session on "3D Object Retrieval and Classification" The efficiency of CAD tools to design 3D models and the strong development of numerical technologies to quickly digitize real objects both contribute to the expansion of 3D databases. Tools for retrieving information become increasingly important in a variety of applications (medical imaging, molecular biology, industrial part catalogues, cultural heritage, computer animations, games, etc.). 3D object indexing is nowadays a very active research topic. This special session is calling for original, high-quality submissions that propose innovative techniques and attractive applications in the field of 3D shape indexing, retrieval and classification: - 3D content-based browsing, indexing, search and retrieval methods - Geometric features extraction, 3D shape descriptors - Pose normalization - Queries by 3D model examples or by characteristic views - Indexing heterogeneous 3D databases: polygonal soups, manifold 3D meshes, parametric CAD/CAM representations, 3D models with color texture maps,... - 3D shape recognition and classification - Benchmarks, comparative studies, evaluation protocols and standards - Visualization methods, user interface design, presentation tools - Organization and browsing of very large 3D database, system optimization for search and retrieval, generation of 3D database summaries and abstractions - Annotation and relevance feedback techniques, knowledge representation and propagation - Domain-specific applications: medical, biometrics, molecular biology, car manufacturing, cultural heritage, archaeology,...
