I graduated in applied mathematics from the University in Genoa in November 1986. Since then, taking into account the evolution of the available technologies and changes in working processes, I have been focused on different issues for the specification of tools and methodologies for industrial design and production. In particular my activity has been concentrated on:� specification of product models for Collaborative Work. In this area, I have defined models able to support multiple-view representations of products for allowing the experts involved in the same project to get the most suitable description for their own purposes while maintaining information consistency. In this perspective, I am currently collaborating with INPG on the propagation of information from CAD data to FEM analysis to support both an easier consistency check of the simulation results between different product versions and a faster shape simplification process. � Definition and implementation of algorithms for supporting Collaborative Work In particular, I have has defined procedures for context dependent information (feature) extraction and for consistency maintenance among view dependent representations. � Specification of methodologies for the definition of user interaction for user-friendly computer-aided design system. In particular through the participation to two European projects (FIORES, FIORES II) I have analysed the way stylists are working (strong contacts are with Pininfarina and StS companies) and I contributed to the definition of a free form feature taxonomy that has been the basis for a collaboration with INPG for the development of a free-form feature-based system on NURBS The same taxonomy has also been used to test the applicability on subdivision surfaces with the PhD thesys of Chiara Catalano � Specification of methodologies and models for virtual team working. I mainly focused in the analysis and formalisation of the methodologies for the establishment of virtual teams through the internet technologies and on the management of the negotiation activities.
